Greetings, lovers of books! I am delighted to invite you to visit Bookish, a boutique bookstore of gently used, collectible and rare books – including classics and favorites of all stripes. Given the size of the store and befitting my aesthetic, I do not carry every book under the sun. However, the books I do carry have been personally selected – the store has been curated to give you a rare, unique browsing experience of both very affordable as well as collectible titles.
As a novelist myself as well as a literary agent and longtime seller of new and antiquarian titles, I have lived among authors and books my entire adult life. I can’t imagine anything more pleasurable than turning a book’s pages with anticipation. Because of this, I have created Bookish to celebrate the sensory pleasures of tactile, tangible tomes. Indeed, I hope you will enjoy this unusual selection. Too, I am interested in hearing what books you’d like me to carry. Please speak up! If you don’t see what you’re looking for, simply ask and I will order it – even hard-to-find, out of print books.
It is also my dream that Bookish serves as a cultural touchstone, a place where a community of readers and writers assemble. In that light, I am hosting events, readings and workshops here at night (see Events/Readings) as well as offering my own expertise as an agent on how to get published (again, see Events/Readings to discover when the next publishing workshop will be offered). I have personally shepherded over 100 books into print as a literary agent and am excited to share my insights on how to bring your own work into the world – whether you self-publish or publish with a major publishing house. While I am not actively taking on new clients (I ask you to respect this status), I am happy to offer the wisdom I’ve gleaned over 25 years as an agent (during the publishing seminars ONLY). In this way, Bookish both celebrates established authors and aims to grow new ones.
I welcome you to sign up on our mailing list by writing to me at firstname.lastname@example.org. In sum, I hope to serve you well in your quest to find the just the right book and hopefully offer up some surprising volumes you’ve never seen before.
